Continuous Professional Learning

The Division of Continuous Professional Learning in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta arranges programs and services that meet the learning needs of physicians and allied health professionals, in order to optimize the health of patients.

Programs

The division delivers the following programming:

  • Alberta Rural Physician Action Plan's (RPAP) video-conferencing and regional conference programs.
  • Mini Medical School Public Lecture Series.
  • Medical Acupuncture Program

Continuous Professional Learning is also developing:

  • The Personal Learning Program, a pan-provincial effort to customize continuing medical education and improve patient outcomes.
  • Mentorship Services Alberta, an initiative to enhance physician training, recruitment and retention.

Accreditation

The Division of Continuous Professional Learning also enables physicians to meet the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Maintenance of Proficiency requirements of the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
