Philanthropy, the practical benevolence expressed by the generous donation of money to good causes, helps the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry make a lasting impact on health care. Gifts from alumni, staff and friends help us advance our world-class research and innovative medical education programs.
Thanks to you and the many alumni and friends who contribute each year, our research and education programs are stronger than ever. Last year, our donors' generosity set a new fundraising record. We anticipate closing Campaign 2008 on Dec. 31 with more than $130 million raised, surpassing our initial goal many times over.
This outpouring of support represents a significant vote of confidence in our efforts to provide the best in medical education and research.
Your support is needed to sustain our momentum, allowing us to continue our dedication to excellence.
Our research programs are focused on developing new and improved ways of preventing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of illnesses. Giving to our research programs will help us make new discoveries, and translate them from lab bench to patient bedside as quickly as possible. Support for grad students significantly bolsters this work since it means we can attract the best and brightest.
Gifts to our education programs will foster innovative teaching programs and allow access to medical education for all qualified students, regardless of their financial situation.
Every gift makes a difference, not only for our researchers, teachers and students, but also for the patients they seek to help and the general community.

"A diagnosis of cancer is one of, if not the, greatest challenges a family will ever encounter. It's time to move forward and address the research needs of children."
